I have an Optiplex 780 and when I use the official tool to get the windows 7 pro oa.iso (I had installed Linux on it and wanted to change it back to windows 7 pro) it says that an image exists but not for my machine what do I do?
According to this question, it is legal to use a Windows 7 OEM license that is presently installed as a 32-bit install with a 64-bit version of Windows 7. With that in mind, I purchased several refurbished systems through TigerDirect. When I received the computers today, I found that they have a Windows 7 license key attached to them that says it is a "refurbished key." A flyer in the box also seemed to imply that this key would not work with regular OEM media.

Has anyone tried using regular OEM media with a refurbished key? I had hoped to create a new 64-bit WIM image that I could use on these systems, but I don't want to try replacing the default install with this new 64-bit install only to find that the key won't validate. If it requires a special customized image, is it possible to convert another type of Windows 7 disc into the required sort much as one can convert a retail disc to an OEM one (and vise versa)?
There is one big difference between the "Refurbished" and the "OEM" install disks of Windows: The refurbished version MUST be installed on a computer that already has or had a previous licensed and activated copy of Windows running on it with the same motherboard. If your computer or motherboard is new ( most likely you custom built it one if it doesn't already have Windows on it), or it is a Mac and your going to install Windows into Boot Camp for the FIRST TIME, the "Refurbished" versions WILL NOT ACTIVATE! In those cases, you must use either a "full" version or the "OEM" version. Microsoft's position on the refurbished version is they are only authorized to be installed by members of their Refurbished Partner program. However, I've installed them on systems as regular individual (not a member of their program) and can confirm what I've said above - works as an upgrade disk (say from Windows XP to Win 7), does NOT activate for new machines/new boot camp installs.
When you install OneDrive for Windows, a copy of your OneDrive installation is downloaded to your PC and put in the OneDrive folder. This folder is kept in sync with your cloud-based OneDrive installation. If you add, change, or delete a file or folder on the OneDrive website, the file or folder is added to, changed, or deleted from your OneDrive folder and vice versa.
Most computers that have been manufactured within the last several years will work with nearly all peripherals. Most newer devices and external accessories are plug and play, and your computer will download and configure any drivers that are necessary for the operation of the peripheral you wish to install. You should consult user manuals and product packaging for information about known compatibility issues because some peripherals may not work with your Windows 7 Professional operating system or may not be compatible with your computer's hardware.
Effective October 1st, 2020, a new authentication label from Microsoft will be affixed to Microsoft Authorized refurbished PCs. This label is intended to allow consumers to validate that the device that they are purchasing has been refurbished by a Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher.
I have gone to the Microsoft website, and input my product key in order to be able to download the ISO for the appropriate OS. However, Microsoft informs me that I need to contact the company from which this desktop is from in order to obtain the ISO.
I have bought several refurbished systems...and the keys for such are only for those specific systems. They are not intended to be used on any other system...and, of course, someone/MS has a list of such keys.
You can go on Ebay and purchase a valid, full ownership (not OEM) W7 key for $6, + or -. I have done that and had no problems. Just check the "satisfied customer" rating (should be over 98%), and check the users' reviews of the seller. They email it to you along with a link to download a copy of W7.
As I read it...the only requirement is that the original COA be attached to the system...and that a second "refurbished" COA actually be used for activation. That's what I have experienced with the refurbs I've bought...purchaser is provided the refurb COA for activation while the original COA is normally attached to the system case (where the system manufacturer normally places such. Manuals have not come with systems for years now and are easily accessible online.
The version of windows that I am thinking of installing on the older PC appears to be a "store bought" version. It came with two MS Official DVDs, one for 32-bit and one for 64-bit, so I don't believe that it is an OEM version and it originally installed successfully on my new computer with no problem....until MS said that the activation key wasn't valid for some reason.
Hi, I upgraded from win 7 pro to 10. My laptop worked fine for weeks, then refused to start windows one morning. I tried the repairs available (advanced options, etc). I then downloaded the ISO file for win 10, that contains all the win 10 versions, I retrieved the win 10 pro product key from my drive, but during the win 10 installation it says the the key is invalid. Can anyone advise me, please. Thank you.
A product riddled with problems. When an update of windows TEN is done, some of my progremmes simply disappear. On windows 8 I never had any problems whatsoever. The latest problem .I cannot link to my printer. Got an expert in at great cost,he managed the link but as soon as the computer is switched off, that`s it,no more link.My ONLY alternative now is to go back to windows 8 until your team sort out all the crap on the system.

I previously had a windows 7 home premium original copy which I did bought spending my money. It worked well. After win 10 launch I could successfully upgrade to windows 10 and the copy got activated automatically. There were talks around saying Microsoft is giving away free windows activation this time. So i made a USB copy of windows 10 PRO in to my flash drive and I DID A CLEAN INSTALL FROM THAT VERY COPY. Now I have Windows 10 PRO not activated. I cannot activate this using my windows 7 home premium product key. PLEASE HELP!
Windows Media Player plays the video and audio files on your PC. You need Media Player to install iCloud for Windows. If you try to download iCloud for Windows 11 or later and get a message that says you need to Install Media Feature Pack to use iCloud, select Download. Then follow the instructions on the next screen.
The Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher Program (MAR) program enables PC Refurbishers to purchase low-cost genuine Microsoft software for preinstallation on newly refurbished PCs. Microsoft Authorized Refurbishers refurbish at least 20,000 PCS per year, and you can find a full list of them here.
Previously, Microsoft offered a Registered Refurbisher Program (RRP) for small and medium-sized Refurbishers (less than 1,000 refurbished units per month). Microsoft discontinued the Registered Refurbisher Program in 2020. Becoming a Microsoft Third Party Refurbisher is a rough replacement for being a Microsoft Registered Refurbisher.
Microsoft Authorized Refurbishers have access to Commercial Licenses and Citizenship Licenses. Which license a refurbisher will use is determined by who eventually receives the refurbished PC. Microsoft titles available at a discount are determined by the license type.
A Microsoft Third Party Refurbisher is approved by a Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher to buy legitimate Microsoft Windows licenses for refurbished PCs. Once approved, a Third Party Refurbisher buys their licenses from the Microsoft Authorized Refurbisher that approved them.

Hi Steve, I would be happy to try and help you out as I am a Registered Refurbisher as well as a Microsoft Authorised Refurbisher TPI Partner. Windows 7 licences were marked EOL last October and are no longer available through the program or from Microsoft even as OEM's as they are transitioning everyone to Windows 10. You can acquire Windows 10 & Office licences through the Registered Refurbishers portal but they are only for entitled recipients. If you are after licences for new or recent systems (under 6 months old and no previous OS) then you will still need to buy an OEM for each system. I can assist in supplying systems already refurbished with Windows 10 Home or Pro Refurbished COA's attached at quite good prices. If you would like to know more send me a message and I can send you information regarding becoming an authorised reseller of refurbished systems with Genuine Windows 10 Licences attached. Kind Regards, Martin Harris (Microsoft Registered & TPI Refurbisher) 2ff7e9595c
